报告人简介:
童平,男,新加坡南洋理工大学数学系助理教授。2007年北京师范大学理学学士,2012年清华大学理学博士,2012年-2016年曾先后在加拿大多伦多大学、美国斯坦福大学从事博士后研究。 他的研究领域具体涵盖数学物理反问题、地震波数值模拟、成像、地球内部结构等方向,其研究成果主要发表在GRL、GJI、BSSA、Inverse Problems等期刊上。
报告题目:Take a step back to eikonal-equation seismic inversion for feasible full waveform inversion
The recent vast deployment of linear seismic arrays provides a good opportunity to conduct full waveform inversion (FWI) for high-resolution subsurface images. Full waveform inversion is considered to be the last course of data analysis in seismology and has been widely explored during the last decade. However, the application of FWI into real data is computationally expensive. To make the powerful and promising FWI computationally feasible, in this talk I will present the SEM-FK hybrid method for the numerical modelling of teleseismic incidence with local heterogeneities. The SEM-FK hybrid method will be the necessary tool for imaging the detailed subsurface structures beneath dense seismic arrays. Besides that, I will also introduce a new software package TomoQuake, which can be used to determine earthquake location, velocity, anisotropy, attenuation, and boundary topography by conducting traveltime inversions. We expect that TomoQuake can generate good starting models for seismic array imaging with the advanced full waveform inversion technology.
