报告人简介:
Amos Nur教授是现代岩石物理学与岩石力学的奠基人之一。AmosNur于1970毕业于美国麻省理工学院,从此一直在斯坦福大学担任教授,曾两度任斯坦福地球物理系主任,目前担任斯坦福大学全校海外交流项目主任。AmosNur教授先后荣获了国际上19项学术大奖或荣誉,其中包括1974年荣获AGU颁发的 J. D. Macelwane奖,2011年荣获SEG颁发的地球物理学最高成就奖Maurice Ewing medal。他是AGU, GSA, SEG, AAPG等学会的终身会员或荣誉会员。2001年他成为美国工程学会(NAE)会员。Amos发表215篇学术论文,5本学术专著。
报告题目:On upscaling - from digital rock to lab to field
Recognizing the challenges of upscaling from simple elements or simple lab models to large scale earth systems has been around for over a century now. Actually, we must recognize that there are 3 different upscaling issues:
Upscaling dimensions – space and time
Upscaling inter-property relations – e.g. perm vs elasticity
Upscaling physics rules – e.g. material and stress rotations
In this talk I will review some specific upscaling issues
--From a pore to porous system
--From 2 grains in contact to grain packs
--From pressure solution at a contact to stylolites
--From Anderson/Mohr Coulomb to distributed faulting
