孟醒,特任教授,分别于2008年和2013年获得中国科学技术大学学士学位和美国密歇根大学博士学位,之后供职于美国加州理工学院喷气推进实验室,从事电离层研究和应用工作,2024年全职加入中国科学技术大学。在国际期刊发表论文五十余篇,总引用超两千次,多次受邀在国际会议和科研机构作专题报告,曾荣获美国宇航局早期职业成就奖章等多项奖励,担任多个国际期刊审稿人和国际会议召集人。
Dr. Xing Meng obtained her B.S. degree in Geophysics from USTC in 2008 and Ph.D. degree in Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Space Sciences and Scientific Computing from the University of Michigan in 2013. Prior to joining the faculty of USTC in 2024, she was a Scientist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), California Institute of Technology. Dr. Meng’s research interest lies in lithosphere-atmosphere-ionosphere coupling, ionospheric structuring and disturbances, as well as numerical modeling of the magnetosphere and ionosphere. She is the lead architect and developer of WP-GITM, an open-source tsunami/earthquake-ionospheric model. Dr. Meng is the recipient of several NASA and JPL awards, including the prestigious NASA Early Career Achievement Medal. She has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and given many invited talks at conferences and research institutions.
