We will discuss the dynamical influences of the iron-aidedspin transition in the mid- lower mantle
on mantle dynamics. Among the topics we will focus on slab stagnation at the mid-mantle depths
between 1500 and 1800 km , the development of fast rising plumes from this region
and the generation of super plumes . All done within a high-resolution two and three-dimensional
framework , with 2 km resolution locally in radial direction and one degree or less along horizontal
directions
