科研领域: 
      主要从事变质岩石学、岩石地球化学、同位素年代学以及大地构造学等方面的科研与教学工作。1988年以来,主持或作为主要研究者参加了多项有关大别山造山带以及华北克拉通东南缘蚌埠及五河一带前寒武纪变质岩的国家973、国家自然科学基金和教育部博士点基金等地质研究项目,取得了一些重要成果和突破。发表学术论文130余篇、专著三部。研究方向为变质地球化学、岩石大地构造与前寒武纪地质学及造山带化学地球动力学,研究领域主要涉及:1.大陆板块的俯冲与折返过程,侧重于大别山俯冲陆壳内部的多层次拆离解耦与差异折返机制以及高压-超高压变质岩的形成和演化及其变质和部分熔融过程中元素和同位素行为;2.前寒武纪大陆的生长与演化,侧重于华北克拉通东南缘前寒武纪变质基底和深源(下地壳)包体的时代、岩石成因和演化及其变质和部分熔融过程中元素和同位素行为;3.大陆碰撞造山带的形成与演化等方面。

荣誉奖项

      1991年获安徽省科技进步奖二等奖 (排名第二)、1997年获国家自然科学奖三等奖 (排名第三)、2002年和2008年分别获安徽省自然科学奖一等奖(均排名第二)以及2010年获国家自然科学奖二等奖(排名第二)。2001年获得国务院政府特殊津贴。
