BriefDescriptionoftheURP

Thisprojectusesadatasetwealreadyhave,whichwasprovidedbyAerospaceCorporation.ItconsistsofMakoairborneimageryfrom7to13micronsinaswathcenteredalongpartoftheSouthernSanAndreasFaultzoneintheIndioHills,CA.  Theideaistousetheremotesensingdatatomapthefaultandevaluatethenumberoffaultstrandsandamountsofoffset.TheMakodataforthisarea,collectedwith2m/pixelsize,showmuchmoredetail,includinggeomorphicsurfacesandfoldingofunderlyingsedimentarysequences,comparedtowhatisdepictedonanyexistingpublishedmaps.ThemainstrandoftheSanAndreasFaultiswelllocatedherefromtrenchingstudies.ThelatestfaultmapsshowschematicrepresentationsoftheminorandsplayfaultsinthisareabuttheMakoresultssuggestthatnotalloftheminorfaultsarecorrectlylocatedonthesemaps.
